Are speed and bandwidth the same thing?

Speed and bandwidth are often used interchangeably but refer to different things. Bandwidth is the maximum capacity of data that can be transferred at once, like the width of a pipe. Speed is how fast that data actually travels to your device. High bandwidth allows more data to flow, but latency determines the real-time speed.
